The concept of quality has been a central theme for Folger Adam products since the beginning. William J. Adam moved to the Joliet, Illinois area from Canada in the 1870's, and founded the Adam Steel and Wire Works.

Folger Adam entered the business in 1905 following his father's retirement; the company bore the Folger Adam's name, and focused on the production of security equipment.

Building on existing technology, and by acquiring more technology and product lines from competitors, Folger Adam assembled a vast array of mechanical locks, and locking hardware. In the ensuing years, Folger Adam capitalized on the engineering and manufacturing capabilities of the company. Folger Adam promoted to end users customized devices for detention facilities. This contributed to the growth of the Folger Adam product line.

Today, Folger Adam products remain a dominant factor in the detention industry. From single locks and high security key cylinders, to full-functioning electrical and electronic control systems, Folger Adam products have the technology to secure any size facility. Architects and professional hardware consultants across the country specify Folger Adam electric locks and control systems for commercial/industrial and detention facilities.

Each Folger Adam product produced is built with the finest quality to be the best total value possible. In our manufacturing process, we use only the best materials, equipment and methods. This insures that the products installed will perform and endure, even under the harshest of conditions.
